  • WIDE MOUTH MASON

    WIDE MOUTH MASON

    Hailing from Saskatoon, Wide Mouth Mason is a blues/rock/roots trio renowned for their fluid, agile musicianship and dynamic live performances.

    Shaun Verreault on lead vocals, guitar and 3-slide lap steel, and Safwan Javed on drums and percussion have produced a decades-deep catalogue including many rock radio hits, multiple gold records, and a track on the classic million+ selling Big Shiny Tunes 2 album.

    Wide Mouth Mason has played clubs, theatres, arenas and festivals, toured with The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and ZZ Top, and appeared in the Al Pacino/Colin Farrell film The Recruit and its soundtrack.

    The band completed a new record called Late Night Walking, produced with Ryan Dahle and featuring Big Sugar’s Gordie Johnson on bass, which was released last year.

    From the buoyant and bouncy indie rock that defined their first half-decade together – culminating in 2012’s incomparable Tiger Talk – through their experimentation with emotive ‘80s pop on 2015’s On Blonde to the seductive, synth-heavy Critical Hit in 2018, the band’s back catalogue is incredibly diverse. Since dropping their debut EP in 2009, the band has earned a JUNO award nod, a SOCAN #1 song award for “Saturday Night”, and held the #1 spot on !earshot for several consecutive weeks with their LP Tiger Talk earning them a cover feature in !earshot Magazine. Yukon Blonde notably has had tracks featured in major series like Grey’s Anatomy and Revenge. More recently, the single, "Summer in July" was featured on episode 2 of the Amazon Original hit series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, which garnered the track over 2 million streams. The band’s 2020 single, “Get Precious” hit Top 10 at Commercial Alternative Radio, while “Saturday Night” and “Love The Way U Are” both went #1 on the CBC Music Top 20. In 2022, the band was handpicked by Modest Mouse as direct support on their summer 2022 tour.

    The band’s newest single “I’m So F*cking Happy” arrives just in time to be the soundtrack of your summer. The accompanying video from director and longtime collaborator Brandon William Fletcher is an equally captivating event, mixing psychedelic and crystalline imagery into a memory of the best days of summertime.     A veteran of sound design and electronic music production for well over a decade, Longwalkshortdock's music has stepped into a genre of its own. Heavily influenced by early 80s video game music, metal and rock music, found-sound and vintage analog synthesis, he stacks layers of melody in his tracks until they implode and reform. Heavy drums and aggressive synths join forces with rolling grooves and melodic lead lines to create a wide variety of slamming dance floor originals. Lesser known fact : Not limited to dance music, LWSD's music crosses into many territories. His vast catalogue of hundreds of songs dives into ambient, IDM, electro, acid, house, big beat, indie rock, drones, electronica and downtempo.

    Wet Future hails from the Canadian west-coast, yet their tantalizing music compares to the excitement from Brooklyn blues bands or LA punk-rock scenes. This high octane alt-rock group consistently delivers the goods with a wildly sinister live-stage presence and an emphasis on creating a massive, raw sound that fans of many genres can get behind. Combining brutally honest lyrics with driving melodies, the group is looking for attention from their recently released full length album titled “Under The Weather”. 
 Under the weather is a window into the triumphant yet vulnerable spaces that Wet Future creates for its audiences. A start to finish listen is a satisfying journey through a roller coaster of emotions that, when blended together, feels like a perfect mix of both familiar and fresh sounds.

    Post-Modern Connection, an indie gem formed in 2016 by university friends Georges and Tega, are creating something special for those lucky enough to find them.

    In the ever-expanding indie music landscape, Post-Modern Connection has carved a unique space for themselves with their particular blend of indie rock meets jazz rejects, meets surf rock, held together by soulful, crooning vocals and infectious instrumentals. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Summer Salt, Hippocampus, Peach Pit, and Vacations their sound has captivated audiences and critics alike.

    As exceptionally unique as his moniker, Grossbuster's live electronic beats is the musical journey of Nate Cunnings. Proficient in his craft, he has conceived an operatic exploration of sound, unlike anything previously seen. Knowing no genre, the music defies classification and instead invokes awareness and perception of streetwise sights and sounds.

    Born Reckless is a Country/Rock band out of Victoria, B.C., which began as an acoustic duo, made up of Jon Bond and James Thomson. With Jon deeply rooted in country, and James in rock & roll, the two have mixed each other’s styles, creating a unique sound that pushes the boundaries of both mainstream country and rock.

    A new spark in Victoria has ignited with local six-piece blues band, The Smokestacks. Their sound brings together a collection of classic blues standards with soul, originality, and creativity. With a style ranging from smooth grooves to hard, gritty blues, they draw on inspiration from the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Bonnie Raitt, Albert King, and many other legendary blues giants.

    Jess Rabbit’s love for music started at a young age growing up in the 90’s, listening to the hip hop of that era. That’s when her love for a good beat first formed and quickly grew to wanting to become a DJ. In 2009 she studied Audio Engineering in Vancouver, and also bought her first set of turntables. She takes the skills she learned in audio school to make seamless, well balanced transitions and mixes that keep the audience captivated from start to finish. Her passion for surfing and music brought her to Tofino and now she is making waves on the west coast, getting well known for throwing down booty shaking house beats, melodic bass lines and crowd favourite throw backs. She has opened for some legendary DJs such as The Funk Hunters, Skratch Bastid, Neon Steve, Mat the Alien, Rumpus, Skiitour, J Pod, X-Ray Ted, WBBL to name just a few, as well as headlined many of her own shows.

    Moon Kitchen is a Vancouver based duo comprised of multi-instrumentalist producers Luko and Outlions, combining electronic and psychedelic influences into their own special blend of laid back dance music.

    Charles also known as FunDipz is renowned for captivating audiences with an electrifying blend of all kinds of House with Minimal Tech and Electro, he is a seasoned DJ and producer with a knack for turning any event into an unforgettable sonic journey. Brazilian landing in Canada in 2017, FunDipz has honed a distinctive sound that fuses pulsating rhythms, melodic harmonies, and an innate ability to read the crowd and he wants to show a little bit of that Brazilian “gingado”.

    FunDipz is committed to crafting immersive experiences through music, believing that every track tells a story and every performance is an opportunity to connect deeply with the audience. Drawing inspiration from Brazilian names like Alok, Vintage Culture, Liu, INNDRIVE, Louie Cut and Mandraks, FunDipz curates sets that traverse boundaries and transport listeners into a realm of sonic euphoria.

    Australian/Canadian multi-instrumentalist, Luko, produces a veritable witches brew of sounds. Drawing from hip hop, house, dance and funk genres influences he weaves his way through genres to create upbeat, drum heavy, dancy rhythms guaranteed to make you move.
